WineGlass
Farm has been dedicated to the equine business for over 30 years.
Our approach combines basic common sense with very selective breeding
principles. WineGlass horses have extensive pedigrees of proven
performance, the athletic ability for the professional competitor,
but most importantly, the excellent disposition for the family
sport horse. Our horses have well rounded, cross-discipline backgrounds
ranging from polocrosse, distance riding, dressage, jumping and
even some calf roping and reining!
Initially,
our priority was to develop an exceptional mare band of proven
athletic mares. Our foundation mares, or their dams, have completed
at least 500 miles of endurance and competitive trails. Soundness,
trainability, willing attitude and competitive ability are genetically
determined and we picked our mares to fit those qualities. The
addition of our Shagya stallion *BUDAPEST in 1990 complemented
our foundation mares’ genetic potential. As an individual,
*BUDAPEST has brought excellent bone, frame, movement and personality
to the WineGlass program. Over 150 years ago on the famous military
stud farms of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Shagya was bred
as a superior cavalry and carriage horse. Today *Budapest offers
the same qualities of toughness, endurance, rideability and courage
that made these horses admired and desired so many years ago.
*BUDAPEST,
at the lovely age of 19, only stands by limited private treaty,
so take a look at our Horses For Sale to purchase your excellent
*BUDAPEST related WineGlass horse. The *BUDAPEST fillies are rare
to come by; they are proving to carry on their heritage as great
riding horses and exceptional broodmares. WineGlass horses tend
to find lifetime homes and become indispensable riding partners.
